About the Project
At Vulcan Squad, we work with some of the industry’s most exciting companies, growers, and cultivation experts to create high-end custom cultivation facilities. 710 Labs is one of those companies. 710 Labs is an award-winning multi-state cannabis brand. They are known throughout the industry for growing the richest flavored, organic, small-batch cannabis on the planet. They work hard at finding and refining the best genetics, so we wanted to provide them with the most up-to-date and future-proof cultivation facility in Colorado.
Total Square Footage: 15,500 sq. ft
Originally a warehouse/storage area. Area will be converted to accommodate all the needs of 710 labs’ cultivation needs.Flower Rooms, 2 @ 2,780 sq/ft
Two flower rooms will increase the organic flower production for 710 Labs. 710’s flower and concentrates continue to lead the industry in sales.Vegetative Room 1,080 sq/ft
This single large Vegetative Room will supply the two Flower Rooms with a consistently established crop ready to flip.
Mother Room 890 sq/ft
710 Labs Mother Room will allow 710 to maintain a consistent line of proven genetics while also providing the ability to test new genetics.Cure Rooms 2 @ 225 sq/ft
710 Labs understands that cultivating quality cannabis does not stop when the plant is taken down, this room will finish off their in-demand strains.Other Square Footage

Full Service Construction
Vulcan Squad prides itself on being a full-service construction group that coordinates a wide range of general contracting services, including electrical, plumbing, metal framing, drywall, FRP, and flooring. Vulcan Squad houses a team of professional experts who specialize in construction, lighting, plumbing, irrigation, and more. The 710 Labs project allowed us to put to work all of our services. We have highlighted some of the details in this Case Study.
Vertical Cultivation
The 710 Labs grow includes a Mother Room and Veg Room, allowing 710 Labs to grow out “Mothers” of strains they want to produce in this specific grow. The grow also has a Veg Room. This room allows 710 labs to grow plants out to a specific size before they are moved to the flower room, ensuring effective space use in the Flower Room. The Mother Room and Veg Room take advantage of Vertical Cultivation. By using the vertical growing model, growers can take advantage of vertical space to maximize their yield, sometimes by as much as three times. Growing plants vertically makes use of racking systems and wall-mounted systems, allowing plants to receive adequate lighting and excellent airflow. Vertical systems maximize space, saving room, money, and resources.
Fertigation
The 710 Labs grow utilizes Fertigation in all the various grow rooms to provide the plants’ optimized nutrients depending on their state of growth. Fertigation is the process of delivering fertilizer to plants using an automated delivery system. Fertilization is beneficial in two ways. Firstly, fertigation reduces the time your team needs to spend measuring, mixing, and distributing fertilizer. Secondly, fertigation systems allow fertilizer to be distributed with the greatest accuracy, reducing the possibility of human error.
Lighting
We worked with 710 Labs to create a lighting plan that would make their grow efficient and abundant. By combining systems like vertical growing with custom LED setups and large rooms with advanced HVAC and HID, 710 Labs now has optimized light output throughout their facility.
HVAC
Keeping cannabis crops happy and healthy involves keeping plants at the perfect temperature, balancing humidity, and controlling airborne contaminants with air filtration systems. Conventional HVAC systems aren’t designed to monitor or control humidity, so they often make cannabis cultivation facilities too dry.
Growing cannabis requires the use of a specialized HVAC system that not only manages temperature but also regulates humidity, often called ‘integrated HVAC’ systems. Installation of integrated HVAC systems should always be left to the professionals, as these delicate systems must be customized and installed according to the specifications of the cultivation facility.
Metal Framing
If you can build a cultivation facility from the ground up and have the opportunity to choose framing materials, consider metal framing as we did for this project with 710 Labs. While wood framing has been the standard, it doesn’t stand up to environmental conditions as well as metal, which is far more resistant to factors like moisture, weight, fire, and pests. In cannabis cultivation, these qualities are highly desirable and help to create a more efficient growing environment.
Flooring
The ideal cultivation facility or dispensary flooring will be level, seamless, durable, and will require little effort to clean. Epoxy covers all these facets and that is why we chose to install epoxy floors at the 710 Labs facility. Epoxy also protects floors from wear and tear as well as the extra benefit of making drainage easy to manage, both needed for this project.
